The Board of the Central Texas Leadership Training for Christ believes that all participants should be recognized and rewarded for their efforts. We encourage our Event Directors to recognize all participants with a metal for their efforts. We do not prevent them from awarding a "participant only" but we feel this should be reserved for those who truly didn't prepare. While some may feel that this cheapens the Bronze award, we feel that by awarding everyone's efforts they are encouraged to keep trying to improve their skills. Watching a young person's eyes light up when their name is called in front of their peers and they are rewarded for their efforts can only be a good thing. A Silver and Gold should be harder to earn but no one who tried should walk away discouraged. They are working to Glorify God through their efforts; we are working to Glorify God through ours. Our Convention format is that we have a Friday Night Devotional instead of a Saturday Night Awards Celebration. We have many congregations who would like to go home on Saturday evening and celebrate Easter Sunday with family, friends and their Church family. This also allows them to receive their Awards in front of family, friends and their Church family who may not have been able to attend the Convention. We still provide a Sunday morning fellowship for those who choose stay Saturday night. If you would like more information we invite you to contact one of our Board Members.
